Position Summary:
The Psychiatric Health Technician plays a crucial role in supporting individuals facing mental health challenges and substance use disorders. This position involves working closely with healthcare professionals to ensure the well-being and safety of patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver personal care and behavioral support to assigned clients.
- Assist clients with daily activities, including grooming, meal preparation, and toileting.
- Conduct regular safety rounds on assigned patients as directed.
- Facilitate ambulation and transfer services for clients.
- Monitor vital signs, including heart rate and blood pressure.
- Provide crisis intervention and behavioral support services.
- Encourage client independence and maintain a safe environment.
- Implement and document behavioral care plans according to established policies.
- Participate in rehabilitation and treatment programs as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- Preferred: Associate's degree in behavioral studies or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of one year of relevant experience is preferred.
- Must comply with all professional standards of practice.
- Completion of Amergis' Competency program may be required.
- Current CPR certification is preferred.
- Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
- Strong communication skills and proficiency in English are required.
- Computer proficiency is necessary.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
