Our iron-rich cathodes are industry-proven drivers of EV, ESS, and consumer electronics applications, and our team of industry leaders is developing a robust supply chain and manufacturing pipeline to deliver Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) qualified cathodes to our customers.
We are looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer to ensure quality of upstream materials and parts that go into Mitra Chem's cathode products for tier one battery customers.
Responsibilities:- Domestic and international travel to customer and supplier sites.
- Drive quality improvements using methodologies such as Six Sigma and lean manufacturing.
- Understand which performance and quality metrics matter to customers as Mitra Chem works to scale.
- Review drawings and specifications from OEMs and define strategies to increase the value of Mitra Chem's technology.
- Collect commercial intelligence research to understand suppliers' offerings and pricing structures.
- Translate process innovations into yield and cost improvement roadmap.
- Work closely and collaboratively with product and engineering organizations to ensure they are delivering against customer requirements and timelines.
- Work with Head of Commercial to develop a master timeline that matches product roadmaps and factory scale-up timelines with commercial agreements with core customers.
- Working autonomously to drive product quality for key customers.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or similar and 3+ years of professional experience in the battery materials space or other hard-tech industry.
- Technical fluency in chemical material products such as lithium-ion battery cathodes.
- Entrepreneurial spirit, scrappiness, and ability to interact with other functions in a cross-disciplinary environment.
- Experience auditing suppliers with quality systems such as AS9100, PPAP, APQP, or SPC.
- Experience translating engineering specifications at the customer level to the material level.
- Fluency in Korean or Mandarin a plus.
