Advocate Aurora Health is in search of a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to take on the role of Operating Room Senior Leader. This position is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of the surgical unit, fostering a collaborative environment for both clinical and support staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guide and supervise clinical and support personnel, ensuring efficient resource allocation to facilitate surgical procedures and maintain optimal patient flow.
- Deliver direct patient care by employing the nursing process to provide safe, therapeutic, and high-quality care through thorough patient assessments, care plan development, and outcome evaluations.
- Foster a safe and efficient care environment, which may involve daily patient rounds to ensure quality service delivery.
- Coordinate the patient care team’s needs by addressing service complaints and enhancing communication among patients, families, hospital departments, and medical staff.
- Act as a mentor and resource for staff, providing training, daily direction, and performance feedback.
- Oversee employee assignments, maintain staff schedules, and assess staffing levels to uphold productivity standards.
- Ensure compliance with policies and procedures set forth by the medical center and regulatory agencies.
- Contribute to budget discussions and ensure the availability of necessary supplies and equipment for safe patient care.
- Collaborate with management to develop and enhance programs and services.
- Participate in product trials and provide recommendations for equipment and services.
Qualifications:
- Must possess a Registered Nurse license from the relevant state and hold Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is required.
- Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of clinical nursing experience in an acute care environment.
- Demonstrated ability to apply evidence-based nursing interventions and adapt to patient responses.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency in electronic medical records systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and colleagues.
- Proven ability to make independent decisions and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Physical Requirements:
Must be capable of performing physical tasks including lifting, standing, and maneuvering patients safely throughout the workday. Protective equipment may be necessary due to exposure to hazardous materials.
