Position Overview:


The Revenue Accounting Specialist plays a vital role in the daily and monthly functions of revenue accounting and reporting, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and corporate standards.

This position involves aiding in the interpretation of technical accounting principles, enhancing revenue processes, and supporting various components of billing and revenue systems.

The Revenue Accounting Specialist also contributes to month-end financial reporting and assists during the year-end audit process.

Key Responsibilities:


Review sales agreements meticulously, escalating any significant or atypical transactions to the Technical Accounting team to guarantee that revenue recognition adheres to ASC 606 guidelines and company protocols.


Ensure seamless transfer of sales data from Salesforce CPQ into Sage Intacct for accurate revenue recognition and prompt client invoicing.


Collaborate with Service Operations to verify the accuracy of time and billing rates in the time tracking system, ensuring this data is accurately reflected in Intacct for timely revenue recognition.

Address inquiries from Sales and Sales Operations Teams regarding standard revenue recognition practices and related issues.

Respond to requests from the Accounts Receivable team concerning client terms and invoicing stipulations as per contractual agreements.


Update ongoing support revenue start dates to align with the commencement of services for precise revenue recognition.

Complete month-end closing tasks, including reconciliations of revenue, deferred revenue, and unbilled revenue.

Assist in the preparation of monthly revenue analyses and forecasts.

Engage in initiatives aimed at improving the Order to Cash process.

Conduct research and collaborate in the development of documentation related to accounting standard adoptions and policy revisions.

Support external financial audits by preparing necessary documentation and providing timely responses to audit inquiries.

Maintain current knowledge of authoritative accounting standards regarding ASC 606 revenue recognition.

Participate in special projects as assigned by the Technical Accounting Team.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.

Minimum of 1 year of experience in Accounting.

Experience with a Big 4 public accounting firm is advantageous. Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP; experience managing complex accounting issues and demonstrating proficiency in current accounting regulations and internal controls.

Pursuing or holding a CPA license is a plus.

Familiarity with Salesforce CPQ and/or Intacct is beneficial.

Ability to collaborate effectively and influence cross-functional teams.
