The Alabama Department of Education is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to fill the role of Special Educational Aide. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational needs of students with diverse abilities.
Responsibilities:
- Assist students with special needs in a classroom setting, providing individualized support and accommodations as needed.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, teachers, and other staff members to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and educators to ensure seamless collaboration and progress monitoring.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in areas such as special education, behavior management, and instructional strategies.
- Collaborate with teachers to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and provide feedback on student progress.
- Contribute to a safe and respectful learning environment by adhering to department policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and completed 2 years of study at an institution of higher education or obtained an associate's degree or higher work keys assessment.
- Successful experience working with children with the ability to relate to and work with students and adults in a positive manner.
- Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.
- Possess Basic English and Mathematical Skills.
- Ability to work harmoniously with others.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- A valid background review conducted by the ABI and FBI pursuant to the Alabama Child Protection Act of 1999 and ACT No. 2002-457.
