We are currently seeking a skilled Communication Specialist to join our team.

About the Job

The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or a related field and be licensed by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation - Speech-Language Pathology. They will also have experience in evaluating patients, developing treatment plans, and implementing therapeutic interventions for speech, language, cognition, and swallowing.

As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, the successful candidate will foster communication with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to achieve goals and establish department support. They will also provide patient education, promote health care outcomes, and participate in continuing education and professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate patients in a systematic and thorough manner, establishing appropriate treatment plans and goals within specified time frames.
  • Administer appropriate treatments to patients, demonstrating knowledge and skill in the use of therapeutic interventions for speech, language, cognition, and swallowing.
  • Instruct and supervise patient care of rehabilitation technicians and student affiliates in a respectful and courteous manner.
  • Maintain timely and accurate medical records, recording legibly in patient charts and completing reports in an organized and thorough manner.

Requirements:

  • Master Degree; Major in Communication Sciences and Disorders or other related field
  • Licensed by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation - Speech-Language Pathology / Eligible for licensure as an SLP Intern
  • American Heart Association BLS Certified

Estimated salary: $90,000 - $115,000 per year, based on location and experience.
