Position Summary

The Warehouse Operations Specialist plays a crucial role in facilitating and coordinating warehouse and distribution operations in alignment with company policies. This position reports directly to the Regional Service Manager and does not oversee any direct reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Request and confirm quotes for transportation as necessary, ensuring accurate shipping timelines.
  • Schedule and monitor the pickup, delivery, or distribution of materials.
  • Provide routing information to guarantee timely deliveries and coordinated locations.
  • Address inquiries from customers or shippers regarding services offered.
  • Track shipments during transit and expedite orders when required.
  • Demonstrate the ability to coordinate production, inventory, and procurement processes.
  • Implement and adhere to warehouse safety and security protocols.
  • Inspect the physical condition of incoming products and assess warehouse facilities, vehicles, or equipment, scheduling maintenance or repairs as needed.
  • Follow established standards and procedures for receiving, handling, storing, and shipping products.
  • Manage space allocation changes effectively.
  • Receive and charge batteries as necessary, monitoring them during charging periods, and repackaging and inspecting as required.
  • Order shipping and warehouse supplies as needed.
  • Conduct vehicle inspections according to scheduled guidelines.
  • Oversee the stocking and rotation of warehouse inventory.
  • Assist in loading and unloading company route trucks and delivery vehicles.
  • Provide forklift and labor support to delivery drivers and colleagues.
  • Maintain daily cleanup routines and perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Performance Metrics:

  • Performance scorecard reflecting metrics such as Days Sales Outstanding, Accounts Receivable Turnover, and customer satisfaction.
  • Resolution of client billing issues.
  • Management observations regarding attitude, diligence, teamwork, and willingness to learn new skills.
  • Additional performance metrics as determined by the direct supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical abilities.
  • Capability to organize work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Aptitude for collaborating with individuals from diverse backgrounds and needs.
