About the Role

Covenant Health Inc. is seeking a skilled Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team at Claiborne Medical Center. As a key member of our nursing staff, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support to our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist registered nurses with patient care, including taking vital signs, recording measurements, and providing basic care.
  • Encourage residents to participate in activities, such as turning, coughing, and deep breathing exercises, to maintain their physical and mental well-being.
  • Ambulate and transport residents as needed, ensuring their safety and comfort.
  • Assist with nutritional needs, including distributing meal trays, feeding, and providing water and other beverages.
  • Provide morning and evening care, including bed baths, oral hygiene, and dressing patients.
  • Empty drains, canisters, and other equipment, and record intake and output.
  • Maintain a safe environment by reporting equipment malfunctions and handling linen and supplies properly.
  • Provide general care, such as positioning, lifting, and turning residents, and assisting with the use of bedpans and urinals.
  • Collect urine, stool, and sputum specimens as ordered.
  • Perform tasks such as ROM, assist with ambulatory devices, and perform phlebotomy and EKG procedures (with additional training).
  • Promptly respond to patient call lights and report significant changes in residents' condition to RNs.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly environment, adhering to infection control policies and OSHA standards.
Requirements
  • CNA certification from the state of Tennessee (or equivalent certification from another state within 4 months).
  • CPR certification.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous hospital experience preferred.
  • Medical terminology a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic computations.
