Certified Substance Abuse Counselor

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Certified Substance Abuse Counselor to join our Behavioral Health team at the Sac and Fox Tribe of Iowa. As a key member of our team, you will provide counseling services to individuals, families, and groups, and work closely with our community to promote recovery and wellness.

• Provide individual, group, and family counseling services to clients with substance abuse issues.
• Conduct assessments, intakes, and develop treatment plans to address client needs.
• Collaborate with community partners to provide education, outreach, and prevention services.
• Supervise and support staff in the delivery of counseling services.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with best practices in substance abuse treatment.
• Develop and maintain relationships with community stakeholders to promote the Sac and Fox Tribe of Iowa's Behavioral Health services.

• Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, sociology, criminal justice, counseling, or human services.
• Minimum of four years of experience in substance abuse treatment, with at least one year of experience providing integrated services to clients with co-occurring disorders.
• Experience with crisis intervention and management.
• Certification as a CADC, IADC, IAADC, or ability to obtain certification within one year of hire.
• Valid driver's license and ability to transport clients as needed.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
