About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated and skilled pediatric hospitalist who can provide high-quality medical care to patients in the PICU and intermediate ICU settings. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, be able to work effectively with support staff, and demonstrate a commitment to delivering excellent patient outcomes.
Requirements
- Board certification in Pediatrics or Medicine/Pediatrics
- Active IL license required
- 12-hour shifts, with opportunities for flexible scheduling
Schedule and Patient Population
The PICU admits approximately 1 year's worth of patients, with an average census of 3-5 patients. The intermediate ICU has a varying census, ranging from 2-7 patients. Our team includes a Clinical Nurse Specialist, ICU staff, and ancillary support personnel such as child life specialists, pastoral services, nutritionists, social workers, PT/OT therapists, and speech therapists.
Procedures and Support
Most patients require medical procedures, with some surgical cases initiated by PICU physicians or elective procedures. We have a full-time Pediatric Sedation Service in place, which covers sedations for special procedures, minor procedures, and radiology procedures. Our hospitalists cover all sedations and Pediatric ICU duties.
Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary range of $250,000 - $300,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
