Pulmonary Therapist

The Respiratory Practitioner II plays a vital role in providing high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care at Swedish Medical Center. As a key member of the patient care team, this individual will perform diagnostic tests, administer respiratory therapies, and monitor patients receiving invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation.
Responsibilities- Perform and document patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
- Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.
- Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
- Assist with placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
- Monitor patient for therapeutic response and notify provider and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response.
- Assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients and respond to emergent patient situations.
- NBRC accredited RRT credential or CRT if grandfathered in.
- Current Colorado Respiratory License.
- Current BLS, ACLS certifications through AHA or ARC required.
- PALS preferred.
- NRP preferred.
- Graduate of AMA accredited Respiratory Therapist Program.
- 6 months previous experience.
