Position: Low Voltage Telecom Technician
Location: On-site, Full-time

Compensation: Dependent on Experience

Role Summary:
We are in search of a proficient Low Voltage Telecom Technician with foundational networking knowledge. This position entails the installation, upkeep, and troubleshooting of low-voltage wiring systems, including Cat 5e, Cat 6, Cat 6A, and fiber optics. The successful candidate will possess experience with networking equipment and VoIP telephony, ensuring that our clients' connectivity and network requirements are fulfilled to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain low voltage systems, including structured cabling and associated infrastructure components.
  • Terminate, test, and label cables to ensure optimal performance.
  • Comprehend and apply fundamental network principles; acquire knowledge about network devices and VoIP as necessary.
  • Identify and resolve issues related to low voltage systems and network connectivity.
  • Conduct comprehensive testing and quality assurance checks to verify that systems and components operate correctly.
  • Maintain precise records of installations, configurations, and maintenance tasks; generate detailed reports for client and internal use.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, addressing their technical inquiries in a professional manner.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and local regulations.
  • Collaborate with seasoned technicians and work independently when required.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation every four weeks and be available for after-hours work if necessary.

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of three years of experience as a Low Voltage Technician with a focus on networking and VoIP.
  • Must reside within a reasonable commuting distance from the office.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CompTIA A+, OSHA 10, BICSI).
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work at heights and manage on-call responsibilities.
  • Proficiency in the installation of network devices and VoIP systems.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Self-driven, confident, and committed to learning new competencies.
  • Excellent documentation, communication, and customer service abilities.
  • Organized and detail-oriented; familiarity with ConnectWise PSA is advantageous.
