Job Title: Central Staffing Coordinator - Nurse Admin - Variable Shifts

North Mississippi Health Services is seeking a highly skilled Central Staffing Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our nursing staff, you will be responsible for coordinating and ensuring optimal staffing levels across the hospital system to maintain high-quality patient care.

Job Summary:

The Central Staffing Coordinator will work closely with department managers to understand and identify staffing needs and concerns to ensure adequate coverage across all units. This role involves developing and managing staff schedules, coordinating staffing data, analyzing staffing patterns, and providing data-driven recommendations to optimize staffing levels.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate with department managers to understand and identify staffing needs and concerns.
  • Develop and manage staff schedules to ensure efficient allocation of resources.
  • Coordinate and ensure staffing data for all inpatient units is entered accurately and timely.
  • Analyze staffing patterns and forecast needs to provide data-driven recommendations.
  • Ensure staffing practices comply with hospital policies, labor laws, and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on staffing metrics, trends, and needs.
  • Facilitate orientation and training sessions for employees new to this role.
  • Maintain daily shift operations in the staffing office.
  • Complete API data entry for entire inpatient areas.
  • Remain accountable for accurate record keeping by recording call-ins, schedule changes, sick leave, and low census hours.
  • Participate in reviewing and revising staffing processes for effective operations.
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree in Business or related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in medical/hospital or relevant field.
  • Proficiency in staffing software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
