Job Summary:

The Assistant Director for Diversity & Inclusion is a key member of the Student Affairs team, responsible for creating and delivering programs that promote cultural awareness, cross-cultural learning, and community among multicultural students. This role requires a strong understanding of issues relevant to students of color and experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement diversity program initiatives that promote cultural awareness and understanding
  • Collaborate with student organizations to create inclusive and engaging events
  • Provide guidance and support to students from historically marginalized communities
  • Assess and evaluate the effectiveness of diversity programs and initiatives
  • Develop and manage budgets for diversity programs and initiatives
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated knowledge and awareness of issues relevant to students of color
  • Experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures
  • Experience working with student organizations
  • Demonstrated experience planning and implementing programs that promote cultural awareness and cross-cultural learning
  • Ability to form effective working relationships with individuals across lines of gender, race, ethnicity, religion, disability, and sexual orientation
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience advising student organizations
  • Experience developing and managing budgets
  • Experience with assessment, marketing, and evaluation of programs and initiatives
