Key Responsibilities of an Inova Practical Nurse:

As a Practical Nurse, you will provide direct patient care utilizing the nursing process under the supervision of a registered professional nurse, advanced practice provider, or licensed physician. Your approach will be centered around the patient and their family, ensuring a compassionate and integrated method towards achieving optimal patient outcomes.


Specific Duties Include:
- Collaborating with materials management to maintain appropriate stock levels and reduce outdated inventory.
- Administering prescribed medications, therapies, and treatments.
- Assisting with patient education and discharge planning.
- Demonstrating correct stabilization and immobilization techniques for the spine.
- Collecting patient specimens in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
- Maintaining an inventory of equipment and supplies to enhance patient care delivery.

Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited LPN program
- One year of experience in an Emergency Department setting is strongly preferred
- Eligibility for licensing as an LPN in the Commonwealth of Virginia
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association
