Position Details

SHIFT: 7PM-7:30 AM / FULL-TIME / 36 HOURS

LOCATION: EMORY LONG TERM ACUTE CARE HOSPITAL

As a capable clinician, you will possess extensive experience in patient care and a solid understanding of the needs of a specific patient population.

You will routinely apply your knowledge, theory, research, and experience to adapt to evolving clinical situations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilize the Synergy Model for Care to personalize care for each patient and family.
  • Act as a resource for colleagues and advocate for patients and families.
  • Communicate effectively and respectfully with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Deliver safe, reliable, and effective care independently using the nursing process.
  • Demonstrate advanced assessment skills and recognize the impact of nursing care on patient outcomes.
  • Document the nursing process accurately and in the appropriate format.
  • Plan and implement patient care autonomously.
  • Evaluate patient responses to care and adjust plans as necessary.
  • Identify patient and family learning needs and recommend resources accordingly.
  • Incorporate the AACN Synergy Model into clinical practice.
  • Manage time efficiently and recognize the need for policy revisions based on evidence-based research.
  • Delegate tasks appropriately while utilizing the Synergy model of care.
  • Engage with the interdisciplinary team and utilize them as resources in patient care planning.
  • Assume a developing leadership role and function as Charge Nurse when assigned.
  • Orient staff or students as needed in the absence of a designated preceptor.
  • Utilize resources responsibly with a focus on cost containment.
  • Demonstrate effective listening and conflict resolution skills.
  • Individualize care based on patient and family knowledge.
  • Advocate for patients based on an understanding of their conditions.
  • Recognize cultural differences in developing patient and family relationships.
  • Identify and implement action plans in non-routine situations.
  • Maintain confidentiality and accept accountability for professional growth.
  • Participate in unit activities to address discipline-specific issues.
  • Articulate the application of the Synergy model in clinical practice.
  • Collect, report, analyze, and provide data as required by physician and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Revise and evaluate the effectiveness of patient care documentation.
  • Utilize surveys and questionnaires to identify areas for improvement.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program with 12 months of recent nursing experience within the past five years or completion of a re-entry nursing program.
  • Must possess a valid, active, unencumbered Nursing license or temporary permit approved by the Georgia Licensing Board.
  • BLS certification is required; ACLS may be required in designated departments.
