We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our Diagnostic Imaging team at Nyack Hospital. As an MRI Technologist, you will play a critical role in producing high-quality images of patients' bodies for diagnostic purposes.
Key Responsibilities- Operate magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce cross-sectional images of patients' bodies for diagnostic purposes.
- Interview patients to explain magnetic resonance imaging procedures and request removal of metal objects that are hazardous to patients and equipment when the magnet is activated.
- Position patients on examining tables and place specified coils close to the area of interest, following protocols requested by radiologists.
- Demonstrate the use of microphones that allow patients and technologists to communicate during examinations.
- Enter data, such as patient history, anatomical areas to be scanned, orientation specified, and position of entry into the aperture of magnetic resonance imaging equipment, into computers.
- Key commands to specify scan sequences and adjust transmitters and receivers into computers.
- Observe patients through windows of control rooms to monitor patient safety and comfort.
- View images of areas being scanned on video display screens to ensure the quality of pictures.
- Key in data on keyboards of cameras to photograph images.
- Alert staff entering magnet rooms to the danger of wearing or carrying metal around magnets.
- Two years of MRI working experience.
- ARRT (R)(MR) highly preferred. If not registered in MRI, must be registered within one year from date of employment.
- Licensed with the NYS Department of Health.
- Must currently possess or obtain within three months of hire BLS and IV certification, IV certification training is available on-site.
