Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinarian to join our team at Petco. As a Veterinarian, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care, while also contributing to the growth and success of our practice. About the Role

The Veterinarian will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care, including performing physical examinations, diagnosing and treating diseases, and providing preventive care. You will also be expected to utilize a problem-based approach to develop treatment plans for patients, and to document all patient observations, findings, and treatments in a concise and detailed manner.


Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality patient care, including physical examinations, diagnoses, and treatments
  • Develop treatment plans for patients using a problem-based approach
  • Document all patient observations, findings, and treatments in a concise and detailed manner
  • Perform routine and complex surgical procedures, including spays, neuters, and mass removals
  • Develop treatment plans for patients undergoing day hospitalization, and transition patients to overnight care as needed

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications:



  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent from an AVMA-accredited veterinary school
  • Active licensure as a veterinarian without contingencies in the state in which the hospital is located, or ability to obtain by start date
  • Current DEA license
  • Current Controlled Substance License, if applicable, in the state in which the hospital is located, or ability to obtain by start date
  • USDA Category I (minimum) Accreditation or completion within two months of hire date
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package, including health and financial benefits, 401K, incentives, and PTO. Our salary range for this position is $86,580 - $184,080 per year, depending on experience.
