At Tre Dita, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dining Room Captain to join our team. As a key member of our service staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional guest service, leading a team of servers, and ensuring a seamless dining experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and Partner with Servers: Collaborate with a team of front and back servers to serve guests, including head tables and VIP tables.
  • Provide Exceptional Guest Service: Provide efficient, friendly guest service to an assigned section of tables, including following all steps of service and bussing tables to ensure a positive guest experience.
  • Assist with Wine and Beverage Service: Assist the sommelier or wine steward in leading wine and beverage service, including making recommendations, suggesting pairings with menu items, decanting bottles, and serving wine.
  • Accurately Record and Account for Sales: Accurately record and account for all items ordered, process payments, and balance all sales/receipts in compliance with restaurant policies and procedures.
  • Safely Transport Food and Beverages: Safely and effectively transport food or beverages to a table of three in a single trip.
  • Operate Equipment and Tools: Safely and effectively use and operate all necessary tools and equipment.
  • Communicate Effectively: Ability to effectively communicate in order to perform and follow job requirements in written and spoken direction.
  • Work Varied Hours: Available to work a variety of hours, days, and shifts, including weekends.
  • Multitask in a Fast-Paced Environment: Ability to multitask calmly and effectively in a busy, stressful environment.
  • Work in a Confined Space: Work in a confined, crowded space of variable noise and temperature levels.
  • Physical Demands: Able to move and lift up to 10 pounds, frequently move and/or lift up to 25 pounds, and occasionally move and/or lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Stand and Walk for Shift: Ability to stand and walk for an entire shift and move safely through all areas of the restaurant, which may include stairs, uneven or slick surfaces.
Requirements:
  • Guest Service Skills: Ensure the overall guest experience exceeds expectations and anticipate guests' needs.
  • Communication Skills: Greet guests with a warm, sincere smile and use tact and good judgment when dealing with guest challenges.
  • Knowledge of Menu and Restaurant: Understand and respond knowledgeably to questions about the restaurant and menu.
  • Sales Techniques: Use effective sales techniques when presenting promotions to guests.
  • Food Allergy Procedure: Understand and follow the food allergy procedure and special orders/restrictions.
  • POS System and Equipment: Proficiency in the use and operation of all necessary tools and equipment, including the POS system and Frequent Diner, Gift Card, and Credit Card terminals.
  • Safety and Sanitation: Comply with all safety and sanitation guidelines and procedures.
  • Alcohol Awareness Training: Successfully complete alcohol awareness training.
  • Teamwork and Adaptability: Get along well with others and be a team player.
