Job Summary:

Teledyne FLIR LLC is seeking a highly skilled Reliability Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and quality of our Cooled and Uncooled Camera Systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to product development as a sustaining team member, supporting Teledyne FLIR's Cooled and Uncooled Camera System level products.
  • Plan, test, and report on product and process qualification for new designs and processes.
  • Monitor and report on fielded reliability metrics.
  • Facilitate supplier and component qualification.
  • Coordinate containment and corrective action for non-conforming material.
  • Act as primary Quality and Reliability Representative with suppliers and customers.
  • Lead regular quality status and improvement activities.
  • Conduct Failure/Trend Analysis and Analytical Problem Solving, recommending and implementing corrective actions.
  • Develop quality procedures and work instructions as needed.
  • Travel as required to suppliers, customers, and/or outside labs.
Requirements:
  • Collaboration and teamwork are essential for establishing good working relationships with product teams and other product teams.
  • Strong communication skills are necessary for creating proposals and communicating in writing, ensuring clarity and ease of understanding.
  • Displaying strong personal initiative and motivation is vital for achieving desired performance results with projects that support the organization.
  • Strong oral communication and presentation skills are essential for making oral and graphical presentations to capture the interest and involvement of the audience.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Must be able to work at a computer for extended periods.
  • Must be able to travel up to 20%.
  • Must be able to communicate orally and in writing using the English language.
Education and Experience:
  • BS in Engineering or Technical discipline required.
  • Two years of experience working as a Reliability or Process/Manufacturing Engineer, preferably in the electromechanical field.
  • Six-Sigma training and/or certification preferred.
  • Lean manufacturing knowledge preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience in the following areas are preferred:
  • IR or similar technology.
  • Quality systems ala ISO 9001:2015.
  • Problem-solving methodology and failure analysis tools.
  • Statistical process control.
  • Measurement system analysis (Gauge R&R).
  • Supplier quality development.
  • Optical and mechanical inspection skills.
  • Electro-mechanical shaker systems and environmental chambers.
  • MS Office applications (must be proficient with Excel).
  • Statistical and reliability software applications.
