Cedar Point Ride Maintenance Technician

At Cedar Point, we are seeking a skilled Ride Maintenance Technician to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual with experience in fabrication and welding operations.

About the Role:

We are looking for a candidate who can assist in the repair and maintenance of rides and attractions at Cedar Point, a premier amusement park in Sandusky, Ohio. As a Ride Maintenance Technician, you will perform welding operations as required, fabricate parts, and work with various tools and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fabrication and Welding Operations: You will be responsible for fabricating parts and performing welding operations according to specified layouts and blueprints.
  • Blueprint Reading and Interpretation: Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, work orders, and welding procedures is essential for this role.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Prepare parts for repair, operate welding equipment, and machines as required to maintain the rides and attractions at Cedar Point.
  • Height Safety: Ability to work at heights using aerial lifts, crane baskets, and catwalks is a must for this position.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of repairs and inspections, including parts or supplies used and labor hours.
  • Cleanliness and Safety: Ensure a clean and safe work area at all times.

Requirements:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required for this role.
  • Labor Union Membership: Must join Laborers' International Union of North America (LIUNA).
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication skills and ability to maintain accurate records are essential for this position.
  • Physical Demands: Able to work at heights, including from catwalks, aerial lifts, crane baskets, scaffolding, and structure climb.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to demonstrate experience in electronic, electrical, and mechanical work is necessary for this role.
  • Hand Tool Experience: Mechanical aptitude and experience with hand tools are required for this position.
  • Manufacturers Manuals: Ability to follow manufacturer's manuals and blueprints is essential for this role.
  • Availability: Willingness to work various shifts and days, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet business needs.
  • Background Check: Ability to pass a mandatory drug test, per company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.
  • Employment History: Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education, and personal references, per company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.

Benefits:

  • A competitive salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per year.
