Job Description

This FFT CW Kinship Therapist position requires a strong background in family systems, with a Master's degree in Social Work or a related field preferred. Excellent time management, organizational, and communication skills are essential, as well as the ability to prioritize and multitask while meeting deadlines. As a FFT CW Kinship Therapist, you will work closely with the Department of Children and Family Services, other Family Service Providers, and The Salvation Army's FFT-KC Supervisor to provide comprehensive assessments, individualized service plans, and therapy sessions. Your expertise will be invaluable in helping families navigate crises and achieve stable placements.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain comprehensive assessments of families and devise individualized service plans in collaboration with the Department of Children and Family Services and other Family Service Providers.
  • Conduct home visits at a minimum of two times per month and therapy sessions per the FFT-KC model.
  • Assist family members in devising and implementing FFT-KC service plans and strategies of intervention for the family.
  • Participate in FFT-KC training, consultation/case conferences, and consult with the FFT-KC Supervisor in providing services based on FFT-KC principles.
  • Will perform clinical assessments and case recommendations.
  • Provide casework/counseling, crisis intervention, brokerage and networking advocacy, coordinating services with other service providers, agencies, and programs.
  • As identified, referrals for auxiliary services with guidance by the FFT CW Kinship Supervisor and DCFS Case Manager.
  • Timely completion of all Connections documents, assessments, case narratives, case plans, and statistical information, reports, and outcome data.
  • Provide written documentation on client's observed behavior and response to treatment intervention.
  • Consultation and recommendation regarding child's permanency plans, and family's treatment needs.
  • Required to provide expert testimony to courts and judiciaries regarding risk assessments as requested.
  • Assist in the training of interns/students/new workers.
  • Collaborate effectively with outside services and agencies including but not limited to Department of Child and Family Services.
  • Must maintain a 'current' caseload of a minimum of 8 and up to 10 cases.
Qualifications
  • MSW or related Masters Degree with clinical experience and licensure preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree with Masters Degree nearing completion, and 5 years clinical experience.
  • Strong background in family systems preferred.
  • Excellent time management, organizational skills, communications skills both verbal and written.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask while consistently meeting deadlines.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license that meets The Salvation Army's insurance requirements.
  • Provide physical assistance and/or intervention with children.
  • Ensure families' needs are met during crises.
