Accuray is seeking an Imaging Physicist - Design and Development to join our team. As a key member of our Imaging Systems team, you will play a critical role in the design and development of our radiation therapy systems.
About the RoleYou will be responsible for monitoring and representing Imaging Systems in product requirements, project planning, and global industry and regulatory standards. You will also contribute to project success as a Subject Matter Expert in imaging physics, including x-ray generation, detection, and image corrections.
This role requires a strong background in imaging device design and image processing, with experience in medical imaging preferred. Additionally, you should have a graduate degree in a related area, such as physics, medical physics, engineering physics, electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, or image and signal processing.
Responsibilities- Develop and design to top-level product requirements to define and achieve specified performance of imaging subsystems
- Characterize and measure various components of the imaging chain to model, specify, develop, and verify the overall performance of the imaging system
- In conjunction with sub-systems or functions (Source, Detection, Electro-mechanical systems, Reconstruction, other), develop calibration techniques and support tools to meet image quality specifications and metrics
- Provide design and test documents supporting the functions being developed
- Collaborate in a product development environment to extend existing and introduce new imaging features
