Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver personal assistance and emotional support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in both home and community settings
  • Assist with daily living activities, including meal preparation, personal hygiene, and general household tasks
  • Engage in community activities tailored to the individual's needs, creating a customized activity plan for their stay
  • Provide transportation services as necessary, including trips to scheduled activities and appointments
  • Maintain accurate documentation of services rendered
  • Administer medications and provide support as required
  • We seek individuals who are passionate about enhancing the lives of persons with disabilities and are open to providing behavioral support in a calm and compassionate manner
  • Collaborate closely with a network of family members, individuals in services, and agencies to foster a supportive environment
  • Be adaptable and willing to create a welcoming home for individuals in need

Contract Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 75 pounds
  • Must possess a QMAP certification or be willing to obtain one
  • Reliable transportation is essential for safe transport
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Successful completion of a background check
  • Appropriate living conditions with at least one available bedroom
  • Preferred knowledge of developmental disabilities, mental health, and trauma
  • Willingness to perform Non-Violent Crisis Intervention techniques as trained
  • Mandatory reporting of any suspected maltreatment, abuse, neglect, or exploitation of at-risk individuals

Compensation:

Compensation is based on the level of support required by the individual, with competitive rates ranging from $36,000 to $90,000 annually. Additional room and board payments may be available, up to $700 per month.
