Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist to join our team. This role involves working closely with students to assess and address various physical and developmental challenges, ensuring they receive the necessary support for their educational journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate students to identify the need for therapeutic services and recommend appropriate interventions.
  • Advise on the selection of adaptive equipment tailored to individual needs.
  • Collaborate in creating Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSP), Individualized Education Programs (IEP), Service Plans, or 504 Plans.
  • Deliver prescribed therapy services and support.
  • Engage with educational staff, parents, and other professionals to provide comprehensive care.
  • Assist in transition planning for students moving between educational programs.
  • Support high school students in preparing for post-educational activities, including employment and community integration.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations regarding therapy services.
  • Oversee and mentor paraprofessionals as needed.
  • Provide training sessions for families and school personnel.
  • Work with facilities to enhance accessibility for all students.
  • Guide school staff on emergency procedures for students with disabilities.
  • Instruct transportation staff on the safe handling of students with physical challenges.
  • Supervise graduate therapy students in educational settings.
  • Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
  • Current licensure in Physical Therapy.
  • Licensure from the relevant state board.

Preferred Experience:

  • Background in working with children and adolescents.
  • Experience within educational systems and participation in IEP meetings.
