Role Summary
The Certified Educational Leader is responsible for upholding the educational integrity of the program by overseeing the educational evaluation process, instructing middle and senior high school classes, supporting fellow educators in enhancing their teaching methodologies, developing and maintaining educational strategies, and managing associated administrative systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with program directors to ensure a high-quality educational framework and adherence to all educational regulations at the state, local, and contractual levels.
- Conduct educational evaluations for each student in accordance with state and local guidelines.
- Establish educational objectives tailored for each student.
- Track and assess students' educational advancement throughout their enrollment period.
- Ensure comprehensive curriculum coverage is implemented.
- Verify that students requiring special education services are receiving appropriate support, with documentation in compliance with federal, state, and local mandates.
- Review and evaluate lesson plans from all teaching staff to ensure alignment with local school district standards.
- Assist fellow educators in lesson design, curriculum planning, and instructional strategies.
- Deliver instruction to students in designated classes.
- Oversee the documentation of middle and high school courses, as well as program-specific courses for each student.
- Guarantee safety, supervision, guidance, counseling, and exemplary role modeling for students during instructional periods.
- Assume supervisory duties for academic team members as necessary.
- Act as a mentor and positive influence for students at all times.
- Prepare reports as mandated by program standards and reporting schedules.
- Conduct home visits as required by program guidelines and/or state contracts.
- Participate in mandatory training and professional development sessions while maintaining relevant certifications and licenses.
- Supervise and/or coordinate day trips and special events that involve recreational activities, facility maintenance, and equipment management.
- Complete crisis intervention and physical restraint training and certification as outlined by state and contractual requirements.
- Maintain CPR and First Aid certification from a nationally recognized organization.
- Support special projects and undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- State Teacher Certification in core subject areas.
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience working with youth.
