Mainframe Technical Advisor Job Description

As a Mainframe Technical Advisor at Ensono, you will be the primary point of contact for our clients, providing expert technical guidance and support to ensure the smooth operation of their mainframe infrastructure. This role requires a deep understanding of zOS environments, technical knowledge across multiple mainframe teams, and excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with clients and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical leadership and support to clients, identifying and resolving complex mainframe issues.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop and implement improvement plans, ensuring optimal mainframe performance and efficiency.
  • Partner with Solution Architects to review and validate solution feasibility, making recommendations to enhance client outcomes.
  • Coordinate and communicate with clients on SW and HW technology roadmaps, ensuring seamless integration and adoption.
  • Interface with Ensono teams and client stakeholders to identify and bring efficiencies, thought leadership, and process improvements to the client environment.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 10 years of experience within a zOS environment with a bachelor's degree or relevant work experience.
  • Technical knowledge across multiple mainframe teams, including DR planning and execution.
  • Experience with client-facing and Service Delivery communication acumen.
  • Proficiency in interacting with SW and HW vendors, with a deep understanding of MF HW and SW infrastructure.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with customer service skills at a management level.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working within a managed services environment.
  • Familiarity with mainframe functional areas such as TCP/IP, VTAM, SNA, SFTP, Session Manager tools, and Disaster Recovery concepts.
  • ITIL certification desirable.
