Job Description

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated Personal Care Aid to provide compassionate care to our patients in the VA area. As a Personal Care Aid, you will be responsible for assisting patients with their daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and grooming. You will also be responsible for monitoring and reporting any changes in their health status to the nursing staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Monitor and report any changes in patients' health status to the nursing staff.
  • Provide emotional support to patients and their families.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients.
  • Assist with meal preparation and feeding.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience working with elderly or disabled individuals.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a hospital or long-term care facility.
  • CPR certification.
  • Valid PCA certification.

Skills:

As a Personal Care Aid, you will utilize your excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide compassionate care to our patients. You will also use your physical strength to assist patients with their daily living activities, and your attention to detail to monitor and report any changes in their health status. Additionally, your ability to work in a team and provide emotional support to patients and their families will be crucial in this role. Finally, your experience working with elderly or disabled individuals will be highly valued in this position.
