Job Summary

The CNC Operator will be responsible for setting up and operating numerical control turning machines to produce high-quality workpieces. This role requires advanced skills in CNC operation, programming, and quality control.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC turning machines, including DMG Mori universal turn machines and Tsugami screw machines.
  • Test run new programs and report any issues to programmers for adjustments.
  • Adjust machine settings to optimize performance and ensure accuracy of machined parts.
  • Inspect and measure workpieces using calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and maintain accurate records of labor hours and machine usage.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience as a CNC operator in a turning environment.
  • Familiarity with Fanuc and Celos machine controls.
  • Proficiency in reading G and M codes.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with DMG Mori machines is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement processes.
