Civil Engineer Position Overview:

The Civil Engineer at Cash Waggner & Associates will play a pivotal role in establishing our new office. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the growth of our organization by designing, planning, and overseeing the execution of various infrastructure and site development projects, including but not limited to buildings, bridges, roads, dams, pipelines, and water management systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and coordinate field crew operations.
  • Provide expert consultation to project stakeholders and management regarding engineering specifications for construction projects, modifications, and structural repairs.
  • Utilize advanced design software and drafting tools to create and communicate project designs effectively.
  • Evaluate the integrity of materials such as concrete, asphalt, and steel through rigorous testing.
  • Establish design criteria by calculating load requirements, material stress factors, and water flow rates.
  • Plan and strategize projects based on comprehensive analysis of relevant documentation including blueprints, survey reports, and topographical data.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports on project-related topics, including environmental assessments and site descriptions.
  • Estimate the necessary materials, equipment, and labor to accurately assess project costs.
  • Collaborate with architects, surveyors, and contractors to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Work closely with surveyors to set reference points and grades essential for construction.
  • Monitor project timelines and ensure compliance with design specifications, safety, and sanitation standards.
  • Conduct inspections and maintenance of completed projects as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • In-depth knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) and related software.
  • Comprehensive understanding of construction materials, methods, and tools.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations applicable to engineering projects.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to balance creativity with analytical thinking.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is mandatory.
  • Professional licensure is preferred but not essential.

Physical Demands:
  • Extended periods of sitting and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
  • Willingness to travel to various project locations.
  • Capability to navigate job sites and construction zones.
