Senior UI Engineer - Contract
Role Overview

Our client operates as a prominent market maker in the swaps domain, specializing in interest rate, currency, and commodity swaps along with associated derivative products.

The organization has established its own middle and back-office operations, encompassing Risk Management, Compliance, Systems, Finance, and Operations.

Position Summary

The Front Office Technology division is in search of a Senior UI Software Engineer to enhance their suite of applications that support trading, marketing, trade analysis, and research activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage in front-end software development tasks.
  • Facilitate the replacement and/or integration of legacy systems.
  • Conduct daily scrums and manage JIRA grooming sessions.
  • Assess and propose technical designs.
  • Adhere to the Software Development Lifecycle.
  • Create comprehensive documentation, including flowcharts, diagrams, and code comments.
  • Monitor, collect, and analyze software or system-related issues.
Qualifications and Skills

Required:

  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience with React, Typescript, HTML5, CSS/SASS, REST/Websocket.
  • 1-2 years of foundational Java experience for support and maintenance.
  • Experience in developing scalable or distributed systems handling high-volume transactions.
  • Solid understanding of software engineering best practices, coding standards, code reviews, and source management.
  • Domain expertise in the Fixed Income sector.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interface directly with users.

Optional:

  • Experience with OpenFin.
  • Familiarity with Angular.
  • Basic knowledge of Figma.
  • Light understanding of SQL, Spring, Messaging Queues (Kafka, Rabbit MQ, etc.).
  • Introductory knowledge of DevOps, VMs, cloud technologies, Kubernetes, etc.
  • Experience with deal and trade flows is advantageous.
Education

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
