Position Summary:
As an Escrow Officer, you will be responsible for managing the intricate details of real estate transactions. This includes effective communication with principals, lenders, agents, and other stakeholders to confirm and relay transaction information. Your expertise will be crucial in preparing escrow instructions, draw documents, issuing title policies, and overseeing fund disbursements. You will collaborate with management and marketing teams to enhance our portfolio of real estate business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage professionally with all levels of management, employees, and clients through various communication channels.
  • Provide proactive updates to agents and principals regarding transaction statuses.
  • Draft escrow instructions and related documents for necessary signatures.
  • Ensure accurate balancing of figures and closing funds, preparing files for disbursement.
  • Meet all escrow and title conditions set forth by lenders and purchase agreements.
  • Prepare detailed Seller CD/ALTA/HUD settlement statements in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Review and verify information in preliminary reports while resolving discrepancies and clearing title requirements.
  • Request the issuance of title policies or other forms of title evidence.
  • Oversee and mentor escrow assistants, guiding their work and ensuring quality standards.
  • Work alongside the Sales and Marketing Department to maintain client relationships and attract new business opportunities.
  • Exhibit professionalism and responsiveness to the needs and expectations of co-workers and clients.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of two years of escrow experience in the State of New Mexico.
  • Strong time management abilities.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of title insurance policies, endorsements, and pricing.
  • Thorough understanding of escrow documents, fees, and terminology.
  • Capable of independently processing various transaction types, including residential resale and refinance escrows.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Notary Commission is preferred.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Ability to work independently, exercising sound judgment and initiative.
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Active listening skills, with an awareness of non-verbal communication cues.
Work Environment:
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Capability to perform under pressure and adapt to disruptions throughout the workday.
  • Involves repetitive keyboard activity and interaction with display monitors.
Physical Requirements:
This position primarily involves sedentary work, including sitting, standing, and occasional lifting or moving of objects.
