Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Food Runner to join our team at Hotel Granada. As a Food Runner, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our food and beverage service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver food and beverages to guests in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Clean and maintain the dining area, including tables, chairs, and floors.
  • Restock linens, china, glassware, and silverware as needed.
  • Assist with opening and closing side work, including setting up tables and resetting tables after meals.
  • Present menus and explanations for all menu items and specials of the day.
  • Utilize our hotel's computer system to ring up sales, print checks, and complete closing readings.
  • Carry trays, bus, and reset tables with linen, china, glass, and silver.
  • Ascertain a guest's satisfaction and handle any problems that may arise, informing a manager of the issue and how it was resolved.
  • Recognize and address potential intoxicated, disruptive, or undesirable guests.
  • Stock linen, china, silver, and glassware for service.
  • Keep accurate control of guest checks, credit vouchers, currency, and posting procedures.
  • Record all guest charges, gratuities, and cash transactions accurately.
  • Set up orders on trays and tables and transport them to guest floors and rooms.
  • Respond properly in any hotel emergency or safety situation.
Requirements
  • A high school education or equivalent experience.
  • Fluency in English, both verbally and non-verbally.
  • A minimum of 1 year of food and beverage experience.
  • Able to work alone without direct supervision.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of drive and determination.
  • Constantly recommend service and product improvement to better the operation.
  • Able to roll and/or carry tables and chairs.
  • Able to lift over 35 pounds when carrying food trays to customers.
  • Standing and walking is continuous for 4-5 hours at a time.
