Medical Payment Specialist

The Medical Payment Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of patient and insurance payments. This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve discrepancies in payment postings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reconcile daily reports from patient payment systems, patient accounting systems, and bank accounts to ensure accurate postings.
- Collaborate with the finance and revenue cycle teams to resolve payment discrepancies and ensure timely and accurate postings.
- Identify trends and report on monthly payment data to finance leadership.
- Maintain confidentiality and discretion when working with sensitive financial information.
- Comply with all department and company guidelines, including applicable laws and regulations.
Requirements:
- 2-3 years of experience in professional fee revenue cycle, with previous reconciliation experience in a medical clinic preferred.
- Solid working knowledge of co-pays, deductibles, work authorizations, and payer eligibility information.
- Proficiency in medical software and technology, as well as Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
