Procurement Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at Tate & Lyle in Sycamore, IL. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for executing procurement activities related to supplier management, ensuring timely receipt of materials, and maintaining stakeholder relationships.

• Analyze and coordinate data to ensure timely arrival of materials needed for production and initiatives at the Sycamore location.
• Maintain contact with suppliers to enable release, tracking, and documentation of materials purchased.
• Track contracts and supply agreements, and support other initiatives as assigned.
• Use SAP MRP system and other information provided to plan requirements and communicate status to relevant areas.
• Input orders, coordinate with suppliers, maintain MRP system and supplier databases, and maintain files as necessary.

• Inventory management and optimization of working capital.
• Timeliness and accuracy of POs to ensure on-time and in-full delivery.
• Stakeholder satisfaction data and/or survey results.
• Category-specific performance.
• Supplier performance.

• Proven expertise in sourcing food ingredients as a buyer in an MRP-driven environment.
• Understanding and ability to successfully develop and manage stakeholder relationships.
• Track record of working successfully in cross-functional teams to serve business needs, develop a compelling selling proposition, and negotiate to win-win contract closure.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• A professional procurement qualification through a recognized professional body preferred.
• A degree in a Business or Technical discipline.
