Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate In-Home Support Specialist to join our team at The Arc Eastern Connecticut. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with developmental and physical disabilities to achieve their goals and live independently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with daily living activities such as meal preparation, personal care, and household management.
  • Facilitate community involvement by accompanying individuals on outings and providing transportation to recreational and community activities.
  • Support therapeutic and behavioral plans, promoting positive behaviors and outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with participants, their families, and providers.
  • Respond to the needs of participants, families, and providers in a timely and professional manner.
Requirements
  • Prior experience working with individuals with developmental and physical disabilities is preferred.
  • Ability to mentor and assist individuals in all areas of life skills, including recreation, independence, communication, and health.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
  • High School Diploma or GED and basic computer aptitude required.
  • Ability to speak and write in English.
