Sentara Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team as a Unit Coordinator in our Intermediate Care Unit. As a Unit Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our unit, providing exceptional patient care, and supporting our nursing staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Function as a charge nurse and staffing coordinator, ensuring adequate staffing levels and making adjustments as needed.
- Manage audits, staff schedules, patient experience, and committee work to maintain a high level of quality care.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Provide education and training to nursing staff on new policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
Requirements:
- 18 months of nursing experience, with previous charge nurse experience strongly preferred.
- Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- RN-Bachelor's Degree required, RN-Master's Degree preferred.
