Job Overview

POSITION: CLASS "A" CDL DRIVER

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Class A CDL Driver is responsible for operating an F-450 truck equipped with a gooseneck trailer to safely transport trench safety equipment between various locations. This role is crucial in ensuring that all equipment delivery and pick-up tasks are performed efficiently, safely, and punctually. Additionally, the driver will oversee the upkeep of the vehicle, ensuring it remains in optimal condition.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Efficiently load and unload equipment using forklifts, ensuring timely delivery between locations.
  • Serve as a point of contact for clients and collaborate with branch departments to meet and exceed customer service expectations.
  • Accurately complete all necessary service tickets, time sheets, and documentation in a timely manner.
  • Conduct all required DOT inspections and maintain logs as mandated by law, reporting to branch management as necessary.
  • Promote a culture of safety by ensuring all operations and driving practices adhere to safety standards.
  • Maintain the truck's appearance and report any maintenance issues to branch management.
  • Engage in ongoing job-related training as required.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Possession of a valid "Class A" CDL.
  • Ability to pass a DOT Physical and all mandatory drug and alcohol screenings.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in commercial truck driving.
  • Maintain a clean driving record to meet insurance requirements.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.
  • Basic knowledge of truck maintenance principles.
  • A high school diploma is preferred.
