Job Summary

BAE Systems USA is seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer to support the design, implementation, and management of our customer's network infrastructures. The selected individual will work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure reliable connectivity, optimal performance, and security of network systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and plan network infrastructures based on client requirements, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security
  • Deploy and configure network equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers using industry standards and best practices
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure uptime, performance optimization, and proactive resolution of network incidents
  • Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems to protect against security threats and vulnerabilities
  • Ensure network infrastructure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including system administrators, cybersecurity professionals, and support staff to resolve network-related issues and improve overall network infrastructure
  • Formally document the data network architecture, design, procedures, and configurations within the IDS engineering processes
  • Provide insights and recommendations that inform key decision-making processes that advance the company's strategic position to win business, disrupt competition, and accelerate successful execution of customer mission objectives
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical field with industry certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP)
  • Minimum of six years experience in designing, implementing, and managing enterprise network infrastructures
  • Strong understanding of network protocols and networking technologies
  • Demonstrated experience in deploying and configuring network equipment from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, and Arista
  • Experience with network monitoring tools and packet analyzers
  • Knowledge of cloud networking principles and configurations (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices
  • Proficiency in scripting languages for network automation and management
  • Strong intellectual and analytical capabilities coupled with pragmatic problem-solving skills
  • Strong communications & influencing capabilities, a robust strategy & change management toolkit, and a passion to deliver innovative solutions
  • Collaborative work style with the ability to effectively interact with and earn the trust of peers and senior management across the organization
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge and experience working in the DoD technical services industry
  • Experience in proposal development and processes
