Job Summary:

Amalgamated Life seeks a highly skilled Senior Attorney - Litigation Specialist to represent the Company, its affiliated companies, and client ERISA Funds in all facets of federal court litigation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ERISA law, federal court litigation, and collection practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft and prepare various court documents, including pleadings, briefs, discovery requests, and demand letters.
  • Represent the Company and ERISA Funds in federal court, including court appearances and arguments.
  • Meet with clients and stakeholders to discuss litigation strategies and provide updates on case progress.
  • Supervise a team of paralegals and local counsel to ensure compliance with ERISA litigation requirements.

Requirements:

  • Law degree and admission to the New York State bar.
  • At least two years of experience as an attorney, preferably in ERISA law and federal court litigation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex legal concepts to clients and stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of ERISA law, including representation of multi-employer funds and withdrawal liability.
  • Familiarity with federal court litigation, including discovery and federal rules of civil procedure.
  • Experience with computer programs, including Westlaw, Court databases, Lexis/Nexis/Accurint, and MS Office Suite.

Salary Range: $90,000 - $100,000
