The Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated Business Process Owner Mid-Level Bank to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will plan, direct, and coordinate activities for moderately sophisticated and complex processes. Your expertise will be essential in understanding process operating objectives, business rules, performance requirements, risks, and controls to minimize failures, eliminate duplications, and control process performance.

You will be responsible for creating, monitoring, enhancing, and maintaining knowledge content articles within applicable process portfolios. Your attention to detail will ensure that processes align correctly with testing guidelines.

As a Business Process Owner, you will assist in gap identification through call monitoring, MSR feedback, and complaints review. You will summarize key themes and insights to action, providing a healthy challenge when necessary.

We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of our locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Colorado Springs, CO, Charlotte, NC, Chesapeake, VA, or Tampa, FL. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply knowledge of the business to understand customer gaps in performance and develop, modify, or re-engineer customer-specific process program plans in alignment with business deliverables and enterprise strategy.
  • Participate in the implementation of customer engagement and product development plans as a functional expert, bringing different perspectives to leverage multiple ways of thinking while developing end-user-focused process solutions.
  • Plan and coordinate the overall health of processes by developing control limits, supervising key performance indicators, etc.
  • Assist in business process risk management by using established methodologies and exercising control plans to ensure alignment with business unit-specific requirements, process requirements, and business needs.
  • Assist in identifying business unit and business process risks across assigned activities.
  • Develop communication plans for customers and internal team members.
  • Ensure alignment between internal partners and customers across assigned business process projects and services using proactive communication and engagement strategies.
  • Use reporting, data, and analytics to measure process and project performance, adjust services and operational activities, and advise key team members.
  • Ensure risks associated with business activities are optimally identified, measured, supervised, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • 4 years of business process execution/knowledge/experience, consulting, and/or process engineering/optimization.
  • Experience in successfully applying quality management, process improvement, and problem-solving tools and methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with process mapping and modeling and creating and validating process documentation.
  • Understanding and application of process management standards and policies, and knowledge of applicable regulations and risk management practices.
  • Demonstrated experience with utilizing various systems to collect and analyze data.
  • Knowledge of federal laws, rules, regulations, and applicable guidance to include OCC Heightened Standards, BSA/AML, REG E, UDAAP/UDAP.

  • Experience working in deposits and/or money movement industry.
  • Demonstrated success facilitating across multiple areas (business, operations, technology, business partners) to drive critical change initiatives.
  • US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner.
What We Offer

USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location. The salary range for this position is: $74,210 - $141,830.

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
