Job Description

CJP is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Director to join our Center for Combating Antisemitism. As a key member of our Strategy and Impact Department, you will play a critical role in mobilizing partners and resources to make antisemitism in Greater Boston socially and politically unacceptable.

The Associate Director will be responsible for the management and growth of our civic leadership strategy, including higher education and business/workplaces. This will involve building relationships with civic leaders, coordinating training and providing resources to support their efforts in preventing and responding to antisemitism.

You will work closely with our Senior Director to implement our strategy in collaboration with partners, acting as a deputy director of the Center. Your expertise in community relations, project management, and budget management will be essential in driving our initiatives forward.

We are looking for a candidate with a strong track record of successfully working with community organizations and donors, as well as experience in managing complex budgets and teams. Key Responsibilities:
  • Build Civic Engagement to advance the initiative's vision and mission, manage the strategic implementation, provide ongoing management of key projects and initiatives across these agendas
  • Support the implementation of all aspects of CCA's work
  • Build out a strategy to influence Boston's largest employers on preventing and responding to antisemitism; lead relationship building with targeted business and workplace executives with the goal of influencing action on antisemitism within institutions
  • Work with the Research and Evaluation team to support organizational partners in achieving strong health indicators through reporting
  • Coordinate with Jewish organizational partners and grantees who are working to implement our collective strategy
  • Represent CCA at CJP committee meetings, with key stakeholders, and community members. Work closely with project managers, CJP's communication team, and other internal stakeholders to update resources, websites, and ensure communications are aligned with strategy?
  • Evaluate volunteer experience and develop and implement improvements and innovation as needed?
  • Effectively represent the initiative to colleagues and community members?
  • Support the Senior Director in budget and financial management and oversight
Requirements:
  • BA/BS in Education, Business, Management, Public Affairs, International Affairs/International Relations, Social Work or equivalent work experience
  • Demonstrated experience with strategic planning and execution, civic and community relations
  • 6+ years' experience in creating and implementing relationship management and project-based work in a non-profit or corporate environment
  • 6+ years working with complex organizations and managing complicated budgets
  • Experience managing a team of 2 or more professionals
  • Proven track record of successfully working with community organizations and donors
  • Extensive experience with project management, implementing methodologies, measuring impact and managing budgets
Skills/Competencies:
  • Deep, up-to-date understanding of contemporary antisemitism
  • Experience in community relations a plus
  • Experience working with at-risk and/or vulnerable populations
  • Ability to understand new concepts, multipart requests, and translate into action
  • Desire to work on a fast-paced, dynamic team
  • Solutions-oriented and action-oriented (i.e., takes on new opportunities and difficult challenges with energy and enthusiasm)
  • Facility managing finances, including projects, accounting, and budget management
  • Political acuity and experience managing sensitive information
  • Ability to manage varied opinions of stakeholders
  • Demonstrated critical thinking
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changes and shifting priorities

Working Conditions:

CJP staff work a hybrid work schedule, Tuesdays and Wednesdays staff work in the office; on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays staff may work remotely with occasional in person meetings of importance on those days
