Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Photographer to join our team at Mid Atlantic Retina. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for capturing high-quality images of patients' retinas, corneas, and other ocular structures to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of various eye-related problems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of imaging tests, including fluorescein angiography and fundus photography, to aid physicians in documenting, tracking, and treating eye disease.
  • Maintain a high level of patient care and provide professional and caring service to patients.
  • Conduct imaging tests using cameras and machines, as appropriate.
  • Assess and monitor patients' well-being before, during, and immediately after IV injections related to fluorescein and ICG angiography.
  • Travel to other clinic locations for coverage as needed.
  • Assist other staff in clinic sites as requested by office managers or physicians.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned by office managers, physicians, or leadership team.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of clinical experience in an ophthalmology practice setting.
  • Certification in some research studies, such as photography.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to effectively communicate with patients, co-workers, physicians, and management.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Flexibility to meet patient and physician demands.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently within job parameters.
  • Team player with a positive attitude and ability to accept constructive criticism.
  • Good time management skills and ability to troubleshoot ophthalmic equipment.
  • Computer literate and ability to maintain confidentiality and patients' rights to privacy protocols and legal mandates.
Physical Demands

This position requires regular standing and walking, occasional bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching. The employee must be able to lift or move objects weighing over 20 pounds and have specific vision abilities, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

This is a safety-sensitive position that requires regular attendance and flexibility to meet patient and physician demands. The employee must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high level of patient care and professionalism.
