The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) plays a vital role in ensuring high-quality patient-centered care and coordination of all functions in the ER department. In collaboration with the management team, the CNC directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care, serving as a resource person for staff and modeling a commitment to the organization's vision and mission.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with admission and discharge processes to optimize patient throughput and quality care.
- Participate in ongoing assessment of patient care services, collaborating with subject matter experts and other managers to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service.
- Support a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary.
- Operationalize current nursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives to improve engagement.
- Recommend and implement courses of action related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff, as well as conflict resolution, personnel policy compliance, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
- Assist with staff scheduling, managing labor in accordance with patient care needs and productivity guidelines.
- Support proper inventory control and manage supplies and equipment.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Registered Nurse licensure in the state of South Carolina.
