We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our team at the University of Illinois Chicago Department of Emergency Medicine. As a Physician Assistant, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our team.
Key Responsibilities- Manage patient care within assigned areas and/or areas of expertise, utilizing medical staff privileges.
- Collaborate with other providers to deliver comprehensive patient care, educate patients and families, and provide support.
- Integrate evidence-based knowledge and clinical expertise to inform decision-making.
- Act as a resource for clinical staff, participating in educational experiences and leading multidisciplinary teams.
- Complete continuing education requirements, including pediatric emergency topics, to stay current with best practices.
- Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Current license as a Physician Assistant in the State of Illinois.
- Current Controlled Substance licensure, American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification, National Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physicians Assistants (NCCPA), and current licensure as a Physician's Assistant in Medicine issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, Division of Professional Regulation.
- Successful completion and maintenance of certification in one of the following: the AHA-AAP PALS, the ACEP AAP APLS or the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC), PALS, APLS.
- Experience in Emergency Medicine or Urgent Care settings.
