Instructor for Nurse Assistant Program

Role Overview:
As a Home Health Aide Educator, you will be responsible for the development and delivery of the curriculum for the Nurse Assistant/Home Health Aide training program. This role includes overseeing the coordination and management of clinical training sites.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement educational materials in accordance with state Department of Public Health guidelines for CNA/HHA training.
2. Teach essential topics such as:
- Communication and interpersonal skills
- Infection control measures
- Safety protocols and emergency procedures
- Promoting patient independence
- Upholding patient rights
3. Prepare for and participate in state reviews to ensure compliance with certification standards.
4. Engage in practices that align with the Commonwealth's Equity Agenda throughout all educational functions.
Job Requirements:
- Current Registered Nurse license in Massachusetts.
- Minimum of two years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
- At least one year of experience in long-term care services.
- Proven experience in lesson planning, delivery, and student assessment in a healthcare environment.
- Experience supervising nursing aides.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, particularly with diverse adult learners.
- Familiarity with post-secondary education programs.
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in teaching adult learners.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with others.
- Understanding of the community college educational landscape.
Additional Information:
Position Type: Part-time, non-benefited role within Community Education.
Supervisor: Director of Community Education.
Work Hours: Classes scheduled in the evenings, including a clinical component that may require weekend availability.
Compensation: Hourly rate to be determined mutually.
Worksite: Assignments may be across various educational sites.
