Position Overview: Mechanical Assembly Specialist
Location: Rockford, IL
Compensation: $60,000-65,000/year

Key Responsibilities:
As a Mechanical Assembly Specialist, you will be responsible for assembling components to produce a variety of products with different complexities. Your duties will include:
  • Ensuring that all protective guards and covers are installed post-painting.
  • Executing fit-up welding to secure parts as specified in the design documentation.
  • Constructing and wiring motorized components.
  • Verifying the correct placement of limit switches according to the design specifications.
  • Troubleshooting automated, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems during the assembly process and resolving any issues that arise.
  • Conducting proof tests on all units and addressing any deficiencies identified.
  • Creating jigs as necessary to facilitate the attachment of components to proof testing equipment.
  • Applying tags and decals to products in accordance with the work instructions outlined in the tagging manual.
  • Performing grinding and touch-up painting on areas requiring maintenance.
  • Disassembling, analyzing, and conducting Inspect and Advise (I&A) operations on customer-owned units.

Throughout your work, you will be expected to embody the core values of the company and adhere to all safety regulations and requirements.


Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of eight years of experience in mechanical assembly.
  • At least three years of experience in fit-up welding.
  • Proficiency in assembling and troubleshooting a wide range of products.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints effectively.
  • Experience using voltage meters, amp meters, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Knowledge of electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
