We are looking for a Lead Battery R&D Engineer to join our team at Executive Recruiting Group.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the research and development of batteries, collaborating with the engineering team to design, develop, and qualify batteries according to customer specifications and documentation requirements. This will involve researching and developing parts, materials, and assembly techniques, as well as working closely with technicians to execute and deliver existing and new products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the research and development of batteries, including design, prototyping, validation, and pilot production.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to determine battery design and mechanical characteristics.
  • Develop processes and tooling for pilot-scale manufacturing.
  • Coordinate and execute product development trials.
  • Summarize and present results, along with conclusions and recommendations.
  • Develop assembly and process specifications, along with other engineering documents.
  • Perform root cause analysis.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related Science or Engineering discipline; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • At least 5 years' experience in R&D or Product Development.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Able to contribute to a collaborative team environment.
  • Self-motivated and hands-on, with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Understanding of contract data requirements.
A Plus:
  • Experience in the Defense or Aerospace industry.
  • Knowledge of battery design, energy storage, power sources, or electrochemistry.
