We are seeking a highly skilled Measurement Technician to join our team at HF Sinclair Corporation. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for conducting complex measurement assignments and duties to ensure the accurate and efficient movement of crude oil.
Key Responsibilities- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all assigned operations conform to state and federal regulations, including DOT, OSHA, and BLM guidelines.
- Investigation and Troubleshooting: Investigate product movement gain/loss issues and maintain, overhaul, configure, and troubleshoot metering systems.
- Measurement and Grading: Measure and grade crude oil receipts and deliveries by truck, pipeline, and refinery LACT.
- Quality Control: Perform quality control checks to ensure integrity and accurate measurement at point of purchase.
- Communication and Collaboration: Liaise with drivers and management to ensure smooth interactions with the assigned division.
- Equipment Maintenance: Configure and maintain flow computers, metering systems, and associated equipment.
- Reporting and Documentation: Create daily reports to ensure operations are performed cost-effectively and efficiently.
- Experience: A minimum of five years of oil and gas measurement experience is required.
- Education: A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Skills: Ability to lead and train a small group of employees, perform moderately complex mathematical calculations, and proficiency with spreadsheet and word-processing software applications.
- Certifications: Certifications in API standards and BLM working and measurement of crude oil are preferred.
- Emergency Response Training: Emergency Response training is preferred.
- DOT Safety Rules and Regulations: Knowledge of DOT safety rules and regulations at the state and federal level is preferred.
The Measurement Technician will work in a field-based environment with up to 75% travel by land and air required. The work will be performed primarily outdoors in all weather conditions and may involve exposure to dust, dirt, mud, water, petroleum products, chemicals, pressure vessels, and tanks.
Physical RequirementsThe job conditions require standing, walking, sitting, twisting, stooping, crouching, kneeling, working in confined spaces, talking or hearing, making visual inspections, making precise hand or finger movements, reaching or grasping, lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs, pushing or pulling up to 50 lbs, climbing up to 60 ft, and strenuous physical activity.
