About the Role

ADB Companies is seeking a skilled and dedicated Laborer II to join our team as a Fiber Installation Specialist. As a key member of our utility construction team, you will play a vital role in the installation of fiber optic cables for various telecommunication projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist our wireline team in the installation of fiber optic cables, showcasing your mid-level laborer skills and proficiency in utility print and map reading.
  • Operate various equipment, including directional drills, mini plows, hydro excavators, and more, to contribute to project success while adhering to safety regulations.
  • Support the setup and shut down of utility construction projects, including traffic control, in diverse conditions.
  • Immerse yourself in a learning environment, training alongside experienced construction crews to gain expertise in fiber installation, print reading, equipment operations, and OSHA requirements.
  • Load and unload materials and equipment from vehicles at construction yards and jobsites.
  • Assume leadership responsibilities as the right-hand to the Foreman, leading by example and ensuring adherence to safety rules and regulations.
  • Engage in on-the-job training to become an experienced operator and eventually progress into a Foreman role.
  • Proactively identify hazards and ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
  • Be prepared to lend a hand in other position duties when requested, showcasing your versatility and commitment to the team's success.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of utility construction experience.
  • At least 6 months of heavy equipment operations experience, including Hydro, Drill, Mini, and Plow.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • CDL License (or the ability to obtain one).
